DLSA Cachar is the District Legal Services Authority operating in the Cachar district of Assam. It administers legal aid programs, facilitates access to justice for disadvantaged groups and coordinates pro bono activities. As a Para Legal Volunteer, the role involves supporting senior lawyers and legal officers in preparing case files, conducting statutory and case law research, drafting pleadings, affidavits and other legal documents, and assisting with client interviews and evidence collection. The volunteer will also help maintain case registers, update databases and may attend court hearings to observe proceedings. The position is full‑time and suited to undergraduate or graduate law students, recent law graduates or individuals with a strong interest in public‑interest law who possess good analytical, writing and communication skills and are comfortable working in a community‑focused environment. Prior exposure to legal research or internships in courts or NGOs is advantageous.
