Robinhood operates a financial technology platform that lets users trade stocks, ETFs, options and cryptocurrencies without paying commissions. The Security Operations team protects the platform and its millions of customers by monitoring, detecting and responding to threats in real time. As a Senior Security Engineer on the Detection & Response team, you would lead high‑severity incident responses, contain threats quickly, and communicate impact to leadership. You would also build and tune detection rules across Robinhood’s cloud and Kubernetes environments, work to raise detection precision, and help design the Autonomic Security Operations roadmap that integrates AI agents for automated issue discovery. Part of the role involves reading and analyzing multi‑language codebases to find vulnerabilities, guiding remediation, and participating in a weekly on‑call rotation to maintain operational readiness. The position calls for five or more years of experience in detection and response or security operations, proven ability to lead complex incidents under pressure, deep expertise securing cloud infrastructure—especially Kubernetes—strong code‑reasoning skills across several programming languages, a track record of creating scalable detection pipelines and SOAR playbooks, and hands‑on experience implementing agentic AI workflows for security tasks.

Responsibilities Lead Incident Response: command security incident workstreams, contain threats, quantify impact, communicate with leadership. Elevate Detection Rigor: build, tune, maintain global detection catalog across cloud and Kubernetes environments. Drive Strategic Innovation: architect Autonomic Security Operations roadmap, integrate AI agents and automated issue discovery. Code & Architecture Analysis: read and reason through multi-language codebases to identify vulnerabilities. On-Call Support: participate in a one‑week rotation to maintain operational readiness. Requirements 5+ years experience in Detection & Response, Incident Response, or Security Operations. Proven command presence in high‑stress incident responses. Deep expertise securing cloud environments, especially Kubernetes. Strong code reasoning skills across multiple programming languages. Mastery of detection engineering pipelines and SOAR playbooks. Hands‑on AI experience designing agentic workflows for security operations.
