As a Software Development Engineer II on this team, you would spend your days designing, coding, testing and operating features for the travel‑and‑expense system, collaborating with architects to define reliable, scalable services, participating in code reviews, and ensuring that new components integrate smoothly with existing finance automation pipelines. The role follows a full software development life cycle, from requirements through deployment and monitoring, and expects you to apply proven design patterns while maintaining coding standards and source‑control practices. Ideal candidates have at least three years of professional software development experience, two years of hands‑on design or architecture work, proficiency in one or more programming languages, a track record of delivering complex systems to customers, and a bachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent field. The Amazon Travel & Events (AT&E) Tech team, part of Finance Automation, is driving a multi-year transformation of the end-to-end Travel & Expense experience for over 500,000 Amazon employees across 64 - 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience programming with at least one software programming language - Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers - 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
