As an Internal Audit Analytics Intern, you will join the Internal Audit Data Analytics team to support the data-driven testing of controls across the company's global technology infrastructure and crypto-native products. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve writing SQL queries to assess the design and operational effectiveness of internal controls, validating ETL processes, and building continuous auditing workflows. You will also be tasked with translating complex audit data requests into actionable findings, testing system and model changes, and documenting results for stakeholders. This role requires the responsible use of generative AI to improve workflow efficiency and quality. This internship is well-suited for students pursuing degrees in data science, computer science, statistics, or related fields who possess strong SQL proficiency, an understanding of data movement, and the ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical audiences. You should be prepared to work in a high-intensity, hybrid environment that includes quarterly in-person working sessions.

As an Internal Audit Analytics Intern, you'll join the Internal Audit Data Analytics Team and support data-driven testing of controls across Coinbase's global technology infrastructure and crypto-native products. You'll extract, analyze, and validate datasets from Coinbase's internal data systems to assess control design and operational effectiveness, translating audit data requests into SQL-based extracts and actionable findings that support the audit team's control testing objectives. What you'll do: Write SQL queries against Snowflake and other internal data platforms to assess the design and operational effectiveness of key internal controls Building continuous auditing processes and AI tooling for use throughout Internal Audit Test system and model changes by validating compliance and performance impact, and document results for relevant stakeholders Produce data extracts and reports from a variety of sources, translating audit data requests into clear, actionable requirements and outputs Validate data ETL processes from upstream production systems into the data repository and from the repository into enterprise tools, checking for completeness and accuracy at each stage Required Skills and Experience: Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field Demonstrated SQL proficiency with experience writing queries and working with large datasets through coursework, projects, or prior internships Familiarity with data ETL concepts, including how data moves between production systems, repositories, and enterprise tools Experience presenting data findings to non-technical audiences through written reports, presentations, or project deliverables Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality #LI-Hybrid P78400 Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target hourly rate for this position can range as detailed below.
