8-8 years experienceAbout the Role Engineer to lead design and development of Vercel's Financial Data Platform, the foundational system for revenue reporting, consumption‑based billing, financial forecasting and compliance. Reports to the Senior Director of Data Engineering and defines the technical vision while partnering with Finance, Accounting and Revenue Operations. Responsibilities Design and implement a data platform supporting revenue recognition, billing and financial reporting using Kafka and streaming technologies. Collaborate with FP&A, Accounting and RevOps to translate reporting and forecasting requirements into technical architecture. Define guidelines for data ingestion, transformation and storage with focus on auditability, lineage and integrity. Oversee data modeling, ETL and warehousing (ClickHouse, Tinybird, Snowflake) for low‑latency analytics and historical reporting. Develop end‑to‑end solutions, mentor engineers and ensure high‑accountability standards. Partner with Security, Compliance, Legal and Internal Audit to meet SOX, SOC 2 and other regulatory requirements. Drive architectural decisions, evaluate build‑vs‑buy trade‑offs and establish a roadmap for platform maturity. Build infrastructure that powers forecasting models and revenue modeling at scale. Act as key decision‑maker for data architecture and technology selection. Requirements 8+ years of experience in data engineering. Strong expertise with Kafka, ClickHouse, Tinybird and Snowflake. Experience building real‑time and batch pipelines, data modeling, ETL and data warehousing. Knowledge of auditability, data governance and SOX/SOC 2 compliance. Proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams.
