Research Infrastructure Engineer.

Microsoft is a global technology company that creates software, cloud platforms, enterprise tools and consumer products. As a Research Infrastructure Engineer based in its Bangalore office, you would work within the Service Engineering team to design, build and maintain the underlying platforms that support internal research projects. Day‑to‑day tasks include provisioning and managing compute, storage and networking resources, writing automation scripts for deployment and configuration, implementing monitoring and alerting to ensure service reliability, and troubleshooting performance issues that arise during experiments. You would collaborate closely with research scientists and software engineers to translate their needs into stable, scalable infrastructure, while applying practices such as infrastructure‑as‑code, continuous integration and container orchestration. The role suits candidates with a background in systems or software engineering, experience with cloud services (especially Azure), scripting languages (Python, PowerShell or Bash), and familiarity with DevOps tools, networking fundamentals and large‑scale service operations.
