Senior Engineering Manager, Observability

About the Role Cloudflare is a global network company that powers millions of websites and Internet properties. As the Engineering Manager for the Developer Observability Platform you will lead a high‑velocity, customer‑obsessed team that builds a unified telemetry solution for complex, high‑volume primitives such as Workers, Agents, and Durable Objects. Responsibilities Deliver excellent customer outcomes; build, plan, decide, design, and communicate to get work done. Set technical and product vision together with product managers and engineers. Build the observability platform for the AI‑driven ecosystem, including agents and new platform capabilities. Own operational aspects such as SLOs, incident response, customer escalations, and technical debt. Recruit, mentor, and grow engineers while maintaining a high bar for performance. Cultivate a team culture of fast iteration, high agency, and ownership. Work cross‑functionally with platform and product teams to instrument and surface actionable data. Requirements A minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience, including at least 4 years managing software engineering teams. Proven track record leading teams that have shipped and operated complex, large‑scale systems and data‑driven applications, preferably in observability, developer platforms, cloud infrastructure, edge/proxy systems, or high‑scale APIs. Significant technical depth with ability to guide architectural discussions, make credible technical decisions, review designs, and unblock the team. Strong developer‑tools taste and hands‑on experience building observability products.
