As a Senior Offensive Security Engineer, you will join the Red Team to identify and mitigate real-world security risks by simulating adversary behavior across the company's applications, infrastructure, and physical environments. Your day-to-day responsibilities include planning and executing long-term red team exercises, performing advanced penetration testing, and developing custom scripts or tools to automate security assessments. You will collaborate closely with engineering and detection teams to prioritize risks, remediate vulnerabilities, and improve incident readiness. Beyond technical testing, this role requires you to communicate complex security findings to diverse stakeholders, from technical engineers to executive leadership, and provide mentorship to other security team members. This position is ideal for an experienced security professional with a deep understanding of the MITRE ATT&CK framework, cloud security, and modern software stacks like Kubernetes and AWS. You should be comfortable working in Python, Go, or JavaScript and possess a proactive mindset toward not only identifying security gaps but also designing and implementing robust hardening solutions.

6-6 years experienceAbout the Role We are building an elite Red Team to identify and reduce real-world security risks across Robinhood. The Senior Offensive Security Engineer will plan and execute security assessments across applications, infrastructure, and physical environments, and partner with engineering and security teams. Responsibilities Evangelize Red Team findings and collaborate on solutions. Mentor and guide Offensive Security team members. Plan and execute red team exercises and long‑term assessments. Perform threat modeling and penetration testing. Develop scripts and tools to automate security testing. Partner with detection and response teams for adversarial simulations. Communicate findings and work with engineering to remediate risks. Lead security incidents arising from findings. Requirements 6+ years of red team or advanced penetration testing experience. Experience mentoring security engineers. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Familiarity with network protocols (DNS, TCP/IP) and operating systems (macOS, Linux). Proficiency in Python, Go, and JavaScript. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration (Kubernetes/Docker), and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP). Knowledge of defensive tools/techniques (IDS/IPS, packet capture, network analysis, AV, EDR) and evasion methods. Deep understanding of MITRE ATT&CK framework and security fundamentals of access and identity.
