About the Role Senior Security Engineer – Cloud Security (Platform, Identity & Cryptography) within PagerDuty’s Cloud Security team, part of Security Engineering under the CTO organization. Responsibilities Harden AWS and Kubernetes environments against CIS Benchmarks, DISA STIGs, and FedRAMP Moderate baselines. Secure EKS clusters and Istio service mesh per CIS Kubernetes Benchmark, DISA Kubernetes STIG, and NSA/CISA guidance. Design and enforce Kubernetes RBAC, least‑privilege workload identity, and container supply‑chain controls. Own PKI and encryption standards, certificate lifecycle, KMS‑backed key management, TLS/mTLS, and encryption‑at‑rest/in‑transit. Create Service Control Policy guardrails and least‑privilege IAM/PAM across multiple accounts. Leverage AI/agentic tooling to automate security controls, posture triage, threat modeling, and compliance evidence generation. Shape detection strategy, author and tune detections in SIEM, and conduct threat hunting. Participate in on‑call rotation, lead incident response for cloud and Kubernetes alerts. Automate controls as code using Terraform and Python. Partner with AppSec and GRC teams to align platform controls with secure‑development and audit requirements. Mentor teammates and contribute to roadmap and planning.
