full-timeSenior Product Manager, Verticals
Lyft · San Francisco, CA
Lyft is a transportation technology company focused on connecting people through ridesharing services. As a Senior Product Manager within the Verticals team, you will oversee three of the platform's most complex marketplaces: airports, scheduled rides, and events. This role involves leading cross-functional teams of engineers, designers, and data scientists to build and refine booking flows, demand forecasting models, and rider-driver matching algorithms. You will be responsible for the entire product lifecycle, from initial ideation and strategy to execution, launch, and ongoing maintenance. The position requires navigating high-stakes environments where precision logistics are critical, such as managing traffic at major airports or coordinating transportation for large-scale stadium events. Successful candidates will possess significant experience in managing consumer mobile applications or complex marketplace products. You should be comfortable working with data-driven insights to solve ambiguous problems and have a proven ability to align diverse stakeholders toward a unified product vision. This role is well-suited for an analytical, entrepreneurial professional who thrives in fast-paced settings and is adept at balancing the needs of both riders and drivers within a dynamic ecosystem.
At Lyft, our purpose is to serve and connect. We aim to achieve this by cultivating a work environment where all team members belong and have the opportunity to thrive. Lyft connects people to transportation to change the way we live and get around our communities. We are looking for product managers who bring exceptional creative and analytical skills to drive forward a best in class product. Product management at Lyft leads the integration of engineering, data science, and design to achieve the company's vision for reinventing transportation. We are looking for entrepreneurial and passionate Product Managers to innovate and execute across a rapidly growing, fast paced company and industry from our San Francisco headquarters. Lyft's Verticals team owns three of the most strategically important and operationally complex marketplaces in our business: airports, scheduled rides, and events. These are the moments that matter most. Airports are a defining touchpoint in the Lyft experience: high-stakes, high-complexity, and critical to both rider trust and driver earnings. Scheduled rides give riders confidence and control while giving drivers greater predictability. Events, from packed stadium concerts to sold-out games, require precision logistics and seamless coordination at scale. Together, these verticals represent some of the highest-intent, highest-value use cases on the Lyft platform. As a Senior Product Manager on the Verticals team, you'll lead a cross-functional team to shape how millions of people plan, book, and experience their journeys across these critical moments. You'll build seamless booking flows, deeply personalized experiences, and robust integrations with travel and event partners. You'll also take on some of the most complex challenges in rideshare: optimizing rider-driver matching in dynamic, high-variability environments, advancing demand forecasting, improving real-time driver guidance, and designing targeted incentives that drive growth. The solutions you build need to work everywhere, from a quiet regional airport to JFK, and from a Tuesday morning scheduled ride to 60,000 fans leaving a stadium at once. Responsibilities: Understand Lyft's strategic and competitive position. Set goals and success metrics that align with Lyft's mission and drive maximum impact based on data analysis, market research, and usability studies Set an incredibly ambitious vision that motivates and inspires your team, peers, and leadership, and that accounts for the distinct dynamics of airports, scheduled rides, and events Completely own your team's products, existing or new, from ideation through development, experimentation, launch, growth, and maintenance, caring deeply about both rider and driver experiences Lead and align cross-functional partners, including engineers, designers, data scientists, analysts, marketers, business partners, and operations, to drive a shared vision Communicate clear roadmaps, priorities, experiments, and decisions across a wide spectrum of audiences from partner teams to executive leadership Experience: 6+ years of experience in product management, product design, or equivalent consulting experience with significant time spent leading consumer mobile apps or marketplace products Experience working with or alongside data science and operations teams on complex products; familiarity with experimentation, marketplace dynamics, or logistics is a plus Passion for Lyft and what we are trying to achieve in sustainable urban transportation Natural ability to make things happen around you. You manage project ambiguity, complexity, and interdependencies in an organized and structured way Strong ability to define and analyze metrics that inform the success of products and the health of the business Excellent judgment and thoughtfulness about the dynamics of a product ecosystem, including balancing the needs of riders and drivers Strong communication skills and intuition for communication strategy at every level: within teams, with partner teams, and to executive leadership Experience leading post-launch optimizations, including developing testing strategies Ability to conceptualize, manage, and prioritize multiple projects for stakeholders Detail oriented with superior organizational skills. Balancing multiple projects, deadlines, and requests should be second nature to you Benefits: Great medical, dental, and vision insurance options with additional programs available when enrolled Mental health benefits Family building benefits Child care and pet benefits 401(k) plan with company match to help save for your future In addition to 12 observed holidays, salaried team members have discretionary paid time off, hourly team members have 15 days paid time off 18 weeks of paid parental leave.
