Senior Security Software Engineer, Sandbox Platforms

Roblox operates a global platform for 3D immersive digital experiences, enabling a community of creators to build and share interactive content. As a Senior Security Software Engineer on the Sandbox Platforms team, you will focus on the critical infrastructure that isolates untrusted code from the host system. This role involves designing and hardening process sandboxes across Linux, macOS, and Windows environments. You will work extensively with platform-specific security primitives, such as seccomp-bpf, namespaces, and AppContainer, to minimize attack surfaces and secure communication paths between the sandbox and the host. Daily responsibilities include performing threat modeling, reviewing system designs, and implementing privilege separation to ensure robust defense against potential exploits. This position is well-suited for a systems engineer with deep expertise in OS internals and a strong security mindset, particularly those comfortable working at the syscall and kernel-interface level using C, C++, or Rust. Candidates should be adept at balancing rigorous isolation requirements with performance and maintainability constraints while maintaining a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities.
