5-5 years experienceAbout the Role Secure Every Identity, from AI to Human Identity, is the key to unlocking the potential of AI. Okta builds trusted infrastructure and is looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to evolve SRE into a Platform as a Service organization. Responsibilities Building, operating, and improving the Kubernetes platform – cluster management, networking, security, and day‑2 operations. Developing self‑service capabilities, golden paths, and automation for internal teams. Supporting platform readiness for AI‑driven internal workflows at scale. Troubleshooting and resolving production issues, participating in a follow‑the‑sun on‑call rotation, and driving postmortems. Contributing to reliability practices – SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, and runbooks. Improving CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure‑as‑code practices. Building and maintaining observability and monitoring coverage. Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to design and code reviews. Collaborating with global SRE peers to align local implementation with broader platform strategy. Requirements 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering. Strong hands‑on experience with Kubernetes in production – deployment, networking, security, and troubleshooting. Experience operating large‑scale internal infrastructure platforms on AWS. Solid experience with infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines. Exposure to or interest in building infrastructure that hosts AI/ML or agentic workflows. Experience with observability platforms and monitoring tools (Grafana, Splunk, APM, or equivalent). Effective verbal and written communication skills across time zones. Computer Science degree or related field, or equivalent experience. Extra credit: internal developer platform concepts, AI agent orchestration, vector databases, model routing, multi‑cloud (AWS plus Azure or GCP), service mesh (Istio, Linkerd), GitOps tooling (ArgoCD, Flux), Kubernetes certifications, enterprise‑scale SCM platforms (GitHub, GitLab). Eligibility Computer Science degree or related field, or equivalent experience.
