4-4 years experienceAbout the Role Okta is building the Agent Gateway, an identity‑aware infrastructure that connects enterprise AI agents to tools, data, and services. The Senior Software Engineer will own features across data and control planes, turning designs into reliable production systems. Responsibilities Own end‑to‑end implementation of gateway features including virtual MCP server aggregation, token exchange, and policy evaluation. Write production code handling credentials, tokens, tenant isolation, and audit logging. Read and implement MCP, OAuth token exchange, and other agent identity specifications. Use Claude, Claude Code, and MCP‑connected agents in daily workflow. Participate in code reviews, testing, incident response, and design‑doc culture. Requirements 4+ years building production backend systems, preferably distributed and highly available. Proficiency in Java and/or Go. Working knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OIDC; familiarity with RFC 8693 token exchange is a plus. Experience with service rollouts, feature flags, observability, and incident response. Familiarity with agentic development tools such as Claude Code and MCP servers. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
