Software Development Engineer, Last Mile Platform Services, SDE

Amazon is a global technology and e-commerce company that operates a vast logistics network to deliver products to customers. The Software Development Engineer role on the Last Mile Platform Services team focuses on creating mobile software building blocks that enable hundreds of engineers to build and ship new delivery features quickly and reliably. Day‑to‑day work involves designing and implementing services, writing clean code in one or more programming languages, participating in code reviews, and following full software development life cycle practices such as testing, source control management, build processes, and operations. Engineers also contribute to system architecture, applying design patterns to ensure reliability and scalability of both new and existing platforms. Collaboration with cross‑functional teams is required to understand requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and maintain high standards of quality and performance. The role suits candidates with at least three years of professional software development experience, two years of design or architecture work, a solid grasp of programming fundamentals, and a bachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent field. Amazon’s inclusive culture supports employees in delivering results for customers, and accommodations are available for applicants with disabilities during the hiring process.
