This Software Development Manager role focuses on the Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) division, which manages the storage, shipping, and logistics infrastructure for millions of products globally. READY TO DO SOMETHING BIG?How would you build the next generation of mission critical systems and services that power the ability to send, store and manage billions of products across the globe on behalf - 3+ years of engineering team management experience - 7+ years of engineering experience - 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience - Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations - Experience partnering with product or program management teams - Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems - Bachelor's degree or above in computer science - 10+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 8+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - 6+ years of engineering team management experience - Experience partnering with product and program management teams - 7+ years of leading multiple Agile teams (like Scrum Masters, Product Owners) concurrently or at scale experience - Experience in written and verbal communication skills to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership - Experience with non-relational databases / data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases) - Experience in development of distributed/scalable systems and high-volume transaction applications - Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy - Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers - Master's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, or related field, or MS degree - Experience designing, building, operating, and managing large-scale distributed systems or web services - Experience leading the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems, or experience in computer architecture - Experience in a high volume, transactional and distributed system environment - Experience with retail or e-commerce research in a global context Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
