full-timeSoftware Engineer, Planned Pricing
Lyft · Toronto, Canada
Lyft is a transportation technology company that connects riders and drivers through its platform. The Planned Pricing team, situated within the company's Marketplace organization, focuses on proactive pricing strategies by forecasting and planning market conditions rather than relying on reactive adjustments. As a software engineer on this team, you will be responsible for designing and maintaining the distributed systems and data pipelines that power these pricing models. Your daily work will involve collaborating with product and science teams to implement pricing strategies, writing and testing production-grade code in Python or Golang, and ensuring the scalability of systems that handle large volumes of data. This role is well-suited for engineers with one to three years of industry experience who possess a strong foundation in backend development and distributed computing. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where they can influence long-term pricing decisions through experimentation and technical design. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will frequently partner with cross-functional teams to translate complex business requirements into robust, maintainable infrastructure.
