Robinhood is a financial technology company that provides a commission‑free trading platform for stocks, ETFs, options and cryptocurrency. The Prediction Markets team is building the backend infrastructure for event contracts, which allow users to trade on outcomes such as sports games and elections. As a Staff Software Engineer on this team, you would own the technical roadmap for core backend services, design and implement highly scalable, low‑latency systems that support real‑time trading and event resolution, and drive engineering excellence initiatives around code quality, reliability and observability. You would work closely with product, platform and other engineering groups to align technical direction with business goals, mentor junior engineers, and help shape hiring and onboarding practices as the team scales. The role expects at least three days of in‑person work per week in either the Menlo Park or New York office and is suited for engineers with a decade or more of backend experience, a staff‑level track record in large‑scale distributed systems, and an interest in prediction markets, trading platforms or financial exchange systems, along with strong technical leadership and communication skills.
