Brand Designer

Grape Health · Zürich

🍇 About grape: Our entrepreneurial spirit drives us in what we do and what we are passionate about. Our mission is to become the premier health partner in the insurance business. Recognising the need for innovation in the traditional employee insurance model we are set to revolutionize the employee insurance industry. We help companies support people before and after they get sick and to make more of their time. Our insurance solutions reduce monotonous and manual work for employees, doctors, HR & payroll managers. As we strive to lead a technology-driven transformation, we put employees first. At grape we pride ourselves on our people and our culture. We continue to grow fast and that’s where you come in. Our team is dynamic, diverse and full of creative ideas. Want to join? We can’t wait to get to know you! Your role: Hi there. Janine here. I know, this is unconventional… I'm deviating from the regular job description script. Why? Because this role is different. The starting point for this role is different. And we want to communicate that clearly. If you browse our website and think, "amazing opportunity for a rebrand", we are not for you. Because here's the truth: what you just saw isn't a draft. It's not a v1. It's the result of a year spent getting the fundamentals right and building a visual foundation we believe in for the long term. What you saw is the floor, not the ceiling. It's the minimum bar for anything we ship from here on out. No rebrand. No reset. Just continuous improvement. We're now at the point where we're looking to build up in-house design, and we need someone who can put the brand before personal signature, buy into what you just saw, execute on it with the same care it was built with, and then, over the years, shape its trajectory and help develop it further. Who are you designing for, you ask? Three very different audiences: HR, the CFO, and, most importantly, the insured person. Not the easiest of brief, since most of the industry still talks to people like they're a policy number, especially at their hardest moments. We want to change that. This is why your work matters so much. At every touchpoint. You're not just making things look good. You're deciding what it feels like to face this system on a day when someone has less capacity than usual to deal with it. That's the job: breathe life into our brand with your design skills and branding expertise, ensuring we deliver high-quality design solutions that connect with our audiences, feel distinctively human, and feel distinctively us. The team, you ask? At this stage of growth, most of us are generalists wearing many different hats each day. Outside of work, you might find us boating on the lake, snowboarding in Arosa, hiking in Appenzell, playing dress-up with our kids, or looking out the window in a classroom in Bern. A bunch of wonderful human beings, skilled in many different things in life. Each one is equally important in building this brand step by step, day by day. P.S. No AI in the application process for this role! We look at every portfolio and read every cover letter. So, you are not wasting your time telling us why you want to join :) Please add a link to your portfolio or attach it when applying. What you’ll do: Shape the brand story going forward. Execute on our new visual identity and help sharpen our brand guidelines. Lead design projects from concept through delivery. Bring your creative expertise and know-how to campaign planning just as much as to execution. Design and create digital and physical collateral for brand and marketing initiatives. Review design work from external partners to ensure high quality and brand consistency. What you’ll need: You bring +6 years of experience, either from a branding/ creative agency or working within an in-house team. You have a proven track record of building brands, are able to adapt your designs to the respective brand, and are proficient at reviewing design materials to ensure cohesive execution. You are equally skilled in creative direction and creative execution, taking ownership and occasionally working with freelancers to speed up the process. Your strong aesthetic sensibility and passion for branding allow you to interpret the brand and deliver a unified narrative through your work. You excel at managing a variety of design projects simultaneously, collaborating effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders. You are highly skilled in Figma and equally adept with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. After Effects is a plus. Creating animated digital assets that are versatile and impactful is second nature to you. You have an eye for detail, precision, and exceptional typography skills. While you thrive working independently, you also enjoy partnering with diverse teams to bring projects and campaigns to life. As a collaborator, you challenge others constructively while pushing your own creative boundaries.
