8-8 years experienceAbout the Role Affirm is building its first fully-featured ads platform to create a best‑in‑class shopping destination for merchants and customers. The Marketplace Performance team owns key monetization artifacts that drive GMV and works cross‑functionally with Revenue, TAM, CSM and Merchant partners. Responsibilities - Set technical strategy for the team on a year‑long horizon and align with business‑impacting projects. - Collaborate with product management, design and analytics to ensure technical sustainability, risk management and trade‑off decisions. - Own team operations and availability through monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, policies, testing and alerting. - Foster a culture of quality by defining code review and design standards and sharing them via tech talks. - Develop talent by providing feedback, guidance and leading by example. Requirements - 8+ years of experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale using Python or Kotlin. - Proven track record building highly available distributed systems using AWS, MySQL, Spark and Kubernetes. - Experience developing consumer experiences with UI frameworks such as React. - 2+ years experience in Ad Tech or related platforms. - Ability to deliver major features or deprecate functionality through defined technical execution plans. - Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration. Eligibility - Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
