This Money Laundering Reporting Officer role is a foundational compliance position based in the Abu Dhabi Global Market. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and overseeing the entity's Anti-Money Laundering, Counter-Terrorist Financing, and Sanctions compliance programs. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing the direct relationship with the Financial Services Regulatory Authority, maintaining regulatory policies, and ensuring the firm adheres to local UAE and ADGM financial standards. The role requires advising internal product teams on compliance requirements, leading regulatory audits, and reporting material findings to senior management and the Board. 5-5 years experienceAbout the Role We are seeking an experienced compliance leader to serve as Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for Coinbase's Abu Dhabi-based subsidiary. This is a founding role within our Compliance organization, building the AML/CTF/PF/Sanctions program in a high‑growth market. Responsibilities Own identification of AML/CTF/PF and Sanctions requirements applicable to the ADGM entity and maintain policies and procedures. Monitor FSRA and UAE regulatory developments and lead implementation of compliance changes. Provide regular updates to senior management and the Board, escalating incidents and driving AML/CTF/PF training. Lead day‑to‑day regulatory communications with the FSRA, including notifications and comment letters. Own timely remediation of findings from internal audit, regulatory exams, and self‑identified issues. Partner with Compliance, Product, and global teams to embed compliance into new products and market expansions. Requirements 5+ years of AML/CTF/PF compliance experience, including senior leadership roles. First‑hand knowledge of UAE and Abu Dhabi financial services and AML regulations. Track record of building a compliance program from the ground up. Experience engaging directly with regulators, vendors, and cross‑functional stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions. Cryptocurrency or fintech experience preferred. Utilizes generative AI responsibly to improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
