Senior Security Engineer - Threat Detection

Samsara operates a Connected Operations Cloud that utilizes Internet of Things data to optimize physical operations across sectors like transportation, manufacturing, and construction. As a Senior Security Engineer focused on threat detection, you will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of the company's detection platform. This role involves building and maintaining data pipelines, developing detection content aligned with the MITRE ATT&CK framework, and managing the CI/CD processes that deploy these security measures. You will work across cloud, endpoint, identity, and application telemetry to identify and mitigate emerging threats. A significant part of the position includes building the underlying machinery to improve detection speed and reliability, as well as critically evaluating the integration of AI-powered security tools. This role is suited for experienced security engineers who are comfortable working autonomously to build systems from the ground up. Ideal candidates possess a strong background in detection engineering, data validation, and pipeline observability, and they should be prepared to collaborate closely with security operations and engineering teams to protect complex, large-scale infrastructure.
