full-timeSoftware Engineer I, Frontend (upfunnel)
Affirm · Remote Canada
Affirm provides a transparent pay‑over‑time service that lets shoppers split purchases into predictable installments without hidden fees. The Engineering team builds the reliable, performant systems that power this product, from core payment flows to the merchant‑side tools that showcase Affirm before checkout. As a Software Engineer I on the Upfunnel team, you will work on the frontend experiences that appear on partner sites, including the Affirm.js library, promotional banners, A/B test frameworks and internal developer tooling. Day‑to‑day tasks involve writing and refining React or Vue components, ensuring accessibility and cross‑browser compatibility, using debugging and monitoring tools to catch regressions, and collaborating with product, design and backend engineers to balance speed with quality. You will also participate in code reviews, share knowledge through team growth activities, and help maintain operational stability of high‑traffic features. The role suits early‑career engineers who have shipped web apps with declarative UI frameworks, are comfortable with JavaScript/TypeScript, enjoy digging into large codebases, and value clear communication and proactive learning in a remote‑first environment.
