Director, Capacity Planning & Engineering

Roblox operates a global platform for 3D immersive digital experiences, supporting a massive community of creators and users. The Director of Capacity Planning & Engineering serves as a strategic leader responsible for the physical and software infrastructure that powers this ecosystem. This role involves bridging the gap between platform demand and physical hardware reality, overseeing the end-to-end lifecycle from supply-demand modeling and procurement to data center deployment. You will lead a team of approximately 20 professionals across four functional areas, including capacity planning, hardware delivery, data center automation, and FinOps. Key responsibilities include building capacity models, managing hardware deployment, developing DCIM systems, and optimizing cloud and on-premise infrastructure spend. The position requires a candidate with over a decade of experience in infrastructure or data center operations, including significant leadership tenure. Ideal candidates possess deep technical expertise in hardware procurement, supply chain logistics, and infrastructure automation, specifically within hyperscale or edge environments. You should be comfortable navigating complex technical challenges, such as GPU infrastructure integration and liquid cooling, while effectively communicating infrastructure strategy and financial impacts to executive leadership.
