About the Role Policy generalist role in the Strategic Advisory team of Anthropic's Public Policy group. Develop and maintain policy research strategy, lead research, turn research into analysis for federal, state, and international teams, and scale support for international markets. Responsibilities - Run policy development processes from open question to agreed position, coordinating experts across research, legal, communications, and regional policy. - Develop research plans for priority issues, identify evidence, leverage Anthropic data and external partners. - Collaborate with research teams (economics, societal impacts, frontier red team) to produce materials for policymakers. - Manage commissioned research projects from scoping to publication and build partnerships with academics, think tanks, economists, and consultancies. - Own economic impact reports and narratives for global markets. - Anticipate emerging policy issues and prepare Anthropic's perspective and supporting materials. - Scale team support for international markets by adapting strategy and creating templates/processes. - Draft briefings, talking points, and other materials on short timelines, coordinating with policy communications. Requirements - Proven ability to drive cross‑functional projects to decision or finished product. - Experience as a policy generalist across multiple issue areas, designing and executing policy research. - Ability to scope research questions, work with economists and experts, and assess evidence quality. - Excellent writing skills to translate complex technical or economic material into clear memos, briefings, and talking points.
