Responsibilities - Manage, mentor, and develop a team of Data Scientists across identity, signals, and developer tools. - Own vision and roadmap for data‑driven decision‑making for the Developer Platform. - Shape developer‑facing data products, metric definitions, benchmarking, and insight quality. - Partner with Ads, Engagement, Growth to identify, validate, and productize platform‑derived signals. - Measure incremental value through experimentation. - Drive platform adoption by collaborating with Product, Engineering, Business Development. - Serve as analytical partner to game developers, designing joint studies. - Work with Data Engineering, Product, Legal on data governance. - Set priorities, operating models, and build a rigorous, decision‑ready team. - Collaborate with other Data leaders to shape Discord’s Data organization. Requirements - 8+ years of experience in applied data science and advanced analytics, including consumer product and B2B/platform contexts. - 3+ years managing and developing Data Science teams. - Strong expertise in experimentation and causal inference (propensity matching, synthetic controls, diff‑in‑diff). - Experience designing interpretable metrics and measurement systems. - Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (Python or R). - Excellent communication and influence skills.
