Senior Software Development Engineer, Time & Pay Innovation

Amazon is a global technology and e-commerce company that operates numerous businesses ranging from retail to cloud computing. As a Senior Software Development Engineer on this team, you would be involved in designing and implementing new features, improving existing systems for reliability and scale, and ensuring the software meets high standards for performance and correctness. Day‑to‑day activities include writing clean, maintainable code, participating in code reviews, contributing to architectural discussions, mentoring junior engineers, and guiding the full software development life cycle from design through testing and deployment. You would also collaborate with product and operations stakeholders to understand payroll and attendance requirements and translate them into technical solutions. The role suits candidates with at least five years of professional software development experience, strong programming skills in one or more languages, proven ability to lead design or architecture efforts, and experience mentoring or acting as a tech lead. A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field is expected, along with hands‑on experience across the full SDLC, including coding standards, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
