8-8 years experienceAbout the Role As a Staff Software Engineer on the Benefits Advisory team, you will be directly accountable for key architectural improvements to Gusto's benefits platform. This full-stack role involves designing and building platform capabilities that enable customers to explore, apply for, and maintain their benefits, with an emphasis on AI-driven interfaces and scalability. Responsibilities Architect and evolve customer-facing web platforms with focus on scale and performance. Build innovative AI interfaces to assist customers. Design, build, and maintain shared services for rapid product iteration. Implement and optimize key workflows for best-in-class customer experience. Write high-quality, well-tested code across the stack, leveraging AI-powered tools. Support, mentor, and up-level fellow engineers. Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, Operations and leadership. Influence the technical roadmap for the Benefits Advisory platform. Requirements 8+ years of experience building scalable full-stack web applications. Expertise in frontend technologies such as React and TypeScript. Experience with AI tools and AI-native design patterns. Strong ability to design, build, and maintain high-performance web services. Proven track record of writing well-tested, reliable code.
