Cloudflare operates a global edge network that accelerates and secures Internet traffic for customers ranging from individual bloggers to large enterprises. The CDN Configuration team owns the end‑to‑end configuration ecosystem that lets users safely modify traffic routing across Cloudflare’s edge platform. As a Software Engineer in this group, you will design and build services that enable customers to prototype, apply, test, and roll back custom traffic rules while working closely with distributed edge systems and cross‑functional partners. Day‑to‑day tasks include writing reliable, observable code, managing deployments and rollbacks, and contributing to the observability and safety mechanisms that underpin the network’s performance. The role suits engineers with strong foundations in algorithms, data structures, concurrency, and experience operating large‑scale distributed systems in production, who enjoy collaborating across teams to improve both operational reliability and product features.
