Within the Associate Experience organization, the Software Engineer II role focuses on building and maintaining the internal products, platforms and AI systems that enable Amazon’s customer‑service associates to work efficiently. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include designing new features and scaling existing services, writing production‑grade code in at least one programming language, conducting code reviews, managing source control, setting up build pipelines, and ensuring robust testing and operational reliability. The position requires three or more years of professional software development experience, at least two years of design or architecture work, and a solid grasp of the full software development life cycle. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, be comfortable with design patterns, reliability engineering, and large‑scale system design, and be able to collaborate across teams in a fast‑moving environment.
