The Data Intelligence & Analytics team builds a centralized cloud data lake and analytics platform that delivers self‑service insights to internal business and product groups. As a Systems Engineer on this team, you will design and implement features for internal data applications, working closely with data engineers to extend and maintain pipelines written in Go while also engaging with React‑based front ends and Clickhouse storage. Daily tasks include shaping platform architecture for scalability, observability and reliability, contributing to CI/CD pipelines, participating in knowledge sharing and mentorship, and collaborating across functions to turn ambiguous business requirements into working solutions. The role suits candidates with a quantitative background (BS/MS in CS, statistics, math or related), solid programming experience in Go, Python, Java or similar, familiarity with SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, and comfort with CI/CD tools like Gitlab CI. Experience with container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), cloud platforms (GCP or equivalent), and JavaScript/TypeScript/React is advantageous, as are strong communication and problem‑solving abilities.

The Data Intelligence & Analytics team at Cloudflare is responsible for building a centralized cloud data lake and an analytics platform that enables our internal Business Partners and Product teams with actionable insights and also provides a 360 view of our business. Our goal is to democratize data, support Cloudflare’s critical business needs, provide reporting and analytics via self-service data applications to fuel existing and new business critical initiatives. About the role We are looking for a Systems Engineer to join our Austin team to scale our development efforts on Platform Tooling initiatives. You will work on building data application tools and frameworks which empowers our Internal Teams. You will work closely with the Data Engineers on the team to add new features and maintain our data pipelines written in Go. You can expect to interact with various languages and technologies including, but not limited to Go, React, and Clickhouse. What you'll do Design and implement key features of our internal applications Work closely with a cross functional team to design features and solutions that solve critical business problems Contribute in improving an evolving platform architecture for scalability, observability and reliability Continuously involved in knowledge sharing and mentorship Examples of desirable skills, knowledge and experience B.S. or M.S in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or other quantitative fields Experience working with Go, Python, Java, or equivalent programming languages Knowledge of SQL and common relational database systems such as PostgreSQL and MySQL Experience with CI/CD, Gitlab CI Excellent communication & problem solving skills Ability to collaborate with cross functional teams and work through ambiguous business requirements Bonus Points Familiarity with container based deployments such as Docker & Kubernetes Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform or something similar Familiarity with Javascript, Typescript, and React Benefits Cloudflare offers a complete package of benefits and programs to support you and your family.
