The AI Teammates Platform team builds the execution engine and underlying services that power Asana’s autonomous AI agents, handling model evaluation, tool orchestration, proactive work detection, and platform APIs that enable agentic capabilities across the product. As a Tech Lead for this team you would define the technical strategy for the execution engine, tool orchestration layer, and platform APIs, ensuring the system stays flexible, reliable, and maintainable as frontier LLMs evolve. You would partner with product, design, data science, and user‑research to understand agentic work patterns, collaborate with external model providers such as OpenAI and Anthropic, and mentor engineers while driving high‑velocity delivery and architectural excellence. The role suits engineers with strong backend or systems experience, a track record of technical leadership or tech‑lead work, and a deep interest in applied AI, agentic systems, model evaluation, RAG, or LLM observatory practices, combined with project‑management and mentoring abilities.

The AI Teammates Platform team owns the execution engine and platform layer that makes these agents effective, reliable, and scalable. Responsibilities Set technical strategy for the AI Teammates execution engine, tool orchestration, and platform APIs. Drive the team to maintain high standards for clean architecture, system reliability, and evaluation methodologies. Collaborate with engineering groups, product management, design, data science, and external model providers. Architect and own the composable platform foundation for agentic capabilities. Oversee high‑impact technical initiatives such as advanced proactivity, model evaluations, latency tuning, and cost optimization. Requirements 6+ years of software engineering experience with strong backend, systems, or reliability fundamentals. 2+ years leading engineering teams or serving as a technical lead. Experience or deep interest in Applied AI/Agentic Systems, including agent orchestration, tool integration, model evaluation, RAG, and production LLM observability. Strong project management skills: timeline planning, risk mitigation, stakeholder management. Passionate about mentoring engineers and fostering technical growth.
