The Memory & Search software engineer will work on the parts of Claude that store, retrieve and surface past interactions across Claude.ai, Cowork and Claude Code. Day‑to‑day work includes designing and implementing backend services for memory storage, indexing and vector search, building the accompanying web UI, running short product experiments, defining usage metrics, and collaborating with product, design, privacy and legal teams to meet consent and enterprise requirements. The role demands experience shipping user‑facing products at scale, strong Python and TypeScript skills, familiarity with LLM‑powered or agentic systems, and a product‑first mindset for iterating from prototype to launch. Candidates who have taken features from idea to production, especially in startup or early‑stage environments, and who can balance performance, reliability and privacy constraints will fit well.
