Product Manager, Storage

Vercel · Remote - United States

Vercel is an infrastructure company focused on providing tools for developers to build, ship, and scale software applications and agents. As a Product Manager for the Storage portfolio, you will lead the vision and roadmap for critical data services, including blob storage, persistent filesystems, and database solutions. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve ensuring these storage primitives integrate effectively with Vercel’s broader cloud ecosystem, such as functions and backend services. You will be responsible for defining performance and durability standards, shaping pricing models that cater to both individual developers and large enterprises, and collaborating closely with engineering and design teams. This role requires working directly with enterprise clients to address complex requirements regarding data locality, encryption, and compliance. The position is well-suited for candidates with a background in building or managing data infrastructure, such as object storage or key-value stores. You should be comfortable navigating technical trade-offs, communicating complex storage architectures to both engineering and business stakeholders, and using data-driven insights to prioritize product development.

About Vercel: Vercel is the agentic infrastructure company, freeing people and agents to ship what's next. For more than a decade we've helped builders move from idea to production with speed, security, and exceptional developer experience. Now we're scaling our products for both agents and people to ship and run software, built in the open and trusted by OpenAI, PayPal, Ramp, Supreme, and millions of developers worldwide. About the Role: We are looking for a Product Manager to join the Vercel cloud product team. You will own the Storage product portfolio where applications and agents keep their data on Vercel. That covers Blob for blob storage, Drives for persistent filesystems, and future database and key value storage products. This is a hybrid role based in San Francisco, and you’ll report to the Product Lead. If you’re based within a pre-determined commuting distance of one of our offices (SF, NY, London, or Berlin), the role includes in-office anchor days on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. If you're located beyond that distance, the role is fully remote. For location-specific details, please connect with our recruiting team. What You Will Do: Own the product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for Vercel’s storage portfolio (blob storage, persistent filesystems, database, and key/value storage). Ensure storage products integrate seamlessly with the rest of Vercel’s cloud (Functions, backend services, Sandboxes, Daemons) to enable fully functional applications and agents. Set and hold the bar for performance, availability, and durability across the portfolio, and make the call when those goals trade off against speed or cost. Shape pricing and packaging for storage so it scales with customers from hobbyist to large Enterprises. Partner with Engineering, Design, and DX to ship primitives that other Vercel product teams build on. Work directly with Enterprise customers and the field to unblock adoption on scale, compliance, and data locality and encryption requirements. Use usage, performance, and reliability data to decide what to build next and what to stop doing. About You: You’ve shipped storage, database, or data infrastructure products, such as object storage, relational databases, or key-value stores. You can go deep on each storage solution and their tradeoffs, and explain them clearly to engineers and customers. You’ve owned multiple connected product areas and set direction that other product teams built against. You’ve worked directly with Enterprise customers on data and storage requirements and turned them into roadmap decisions. Bonus If You: Have worked at cloud provider or data storage provider. Have an engineering background or have built software yourself. Have experience with compliance and security requirements in enterprise procurement. Compensation & Benefits: Competitive compensation package, including equity. Inclusive Healthcare Package. Learn and Grow - we provide mentorship and send you to events that help you build your network and skills. Flexible Time Off. We will provide you the gear you need to do your role, and a WFH budget for you to outfit your space as needed. The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $208,000 - $312,000.
