In the Amsterdam office, the Customs Analyst works on the Customs Team to prepare and file the import and export documentation required for customs clearance in the European Union. Day‑to‑day tasks include reviewing incoming paperwork, classifying products according to the General Rules of Interpretation, assessing whether shipments qualify for preferential trade agreements, and ensuring all filings comply with EU customs regulations. The role also involves maintaining client relationships by providing responsive customer service and keeping shipments moving smoothly through digital, paper‑less workflows. While prior customs experience is helpful, the company provides training, and a background in freight forwarding or logistics is advantageous. Proficiency in Dutch is a plus, as is comfort with digital tools and the ability to handle a high volume of entries accurately under deadlines. The Opportunity: Flexport is experiencing massive growth with 2000+ Flexporters across 40+ global offices and warehouses. And we’re just getting started. With revenue growing at breakneck speed, Flexport is looking for a Global Customs Analyst to join our Customs Team in Amsterdam. This is a great position for hard-working, detail-oriented professionals looking to develop their career in the international trade industry. You'll be working alongside and learning from some of the smartest people in the logistics industry as we challenge the status quo and reduce the friction in global trade. You Will: Digitally prepare and file all documentation required to customs clear goods (import & export) Review and organize incoming documents to ensure compliance with EU Customs Regulations Classify products as necessary using GRIs Identify the potential for the use of a Preferential Trade Agreement on a per shipment basis Maintain excellent working relationship with clients by providing customer service that exceeds client expectations You Should Have: Customs experience is ideal, but not required. We'll teach you! A background in freight forwarding or logistics is a strong plus Dutch is a plus The ability to manage a high volume of entries accurately and on deadline Strong written and verbal communication, and the organizational skills to keep many shipments moving at once Comfort working in digital tools.
