The Memberships team within Twitch’s Commerce Engineering organization builds the subscription, gifting and Turbo features that let creators earn a living from their streams. As a Software Engineer I on this team, you will design and implement interactive experiences for viewers and creators, architect backend services that scale to millions of concurrent users, and participate in operational‑excellence work to keep the live services reliable. Day‑to‑day tasks include writing code in languages such as Python, Java or Go, collaborating with product managers, designers and fellow engineers to ship new features, and maintaining existing systems through monitoring and incident response. The role suits candidates with at least one year of professional software development, strong algorithmic and data‑structure skills, experience with distributed‑system technologies, and a bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent. Familiarity with Twitch’s stack (Golang, TypeScript/React), mobile development, or AWS services like ECS, DynamoDB, Lambda, SQS and Step Functions is a plus, as is a passion for gaming or streaming.

About the Role Join Twitch’s Memberships team within the Commerce Engineering organization, where we’re building rewarding experiences allowing creators to make a living doing what they love. We’re the team behind our continuous patronage features including channel Subscriptions, Gifting, and Turbo. As a member of our team, you’ll work alongside our highly engaged and collaborative team to design, build and maintain systems that scale to millions of concurrent users. Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
