As a Senior Analyst you will own end‑to‑end analytical projects, from framing business questions through data extraction, modeling and presenting actionable insights that guide decisions on approval rates, conversion, fraud mitigation, repayment behavior or international expansion. The role requires building quantitative research, performance monitoring tools and scalable data infrastructure while collaborating with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Candidates should have several years of experience in data‑driven analysis, strong statistical or econometric skills, familiarity with fintech or financial‑risk contexts, and the ability to translate complex regulatory or macro‑economic trends into clear business recommendations. About the Risk & Analytics Team The Risk & Analytics (R&A) team makes crucial decisions that direct Affirm’s business strategy. We partner with Machine Learning, Product, Engineering, Capital Markets, and Commercial teams to grow Affirm responsibly by optimizing approval, conversion, losses, and profitability. Operating across the entire customer and merchant lifecycle, we tackle a diverse array of challenges, from optimizing checkout conversion and mitigating fraud risk to building scalable data foundations and enabling international growth. We analyze performance not just to report on it, but to determine where to invest resources for maximum impact through building tools, scalable data infrastructure, and analytical frameworks. We improve the analytics experience across Affirm by streamlining workflows and fostering a culture of learning and documentation. By taking ownership of the entire analytical lifecycle, from initial question to final business decision, we turn complex data and systems into clear, actionable signals that ensure Affirm grows efficiently and intelligently. One Role, Multiple Teams We are hiring multiple Senior Analyst roles across Affirm's Risk & Analytics organization through this single job posting. Rather than interviewing for one specific team, candidates will go through a shared interview process designed to assess the core skills we look for across R&A. If selected, we will work with you to determine the best team match based on your interests, experience, strengths, and current business needs. Potential team placements include: Point of Sale (POS): Optimize merchant and checkout performance to improve conversion, approvals, and unit economics across the purchase funnel. Direct to Consumer (DTC) / Card: Drive engagement, repeat usage, and lifecycle health across Affirm's app, web, and card experiences. Fraud: Prevent and reduce fraud losses across the customer journey while maintaining a frictionless user experience. Core Analytics: Build the quantitative research, performance monitoring, and scalable data foundations that enable fast, economically sound decisions. Servicing: Enhance the post-origination customer experience by analyzing repayment behavior, collections strategies, and operational efficiency. International Expansion: Build the measurement and decision foundations needed to sustainably launch and scale Affirm in new global markets. About the Role As a Senior Analyst in Affirm's Risk & Analytics organization, you will join one of several analytical teams working across the customer and merchant lifecycle. While the specific problems you tackle will depend on your eventual team placement, all Senior Analyst roles share a common foundation: owning complex analytical problems end to end, translating data into business strategy, and influencing decisions across technical and non-technical teams. You will operate with autonomy to own the entire analytical lifecycle, from initial question to final business decision. You bring exceptional analytical rigor, deep domain expertise, and the ability to translate complex regulatory, economic, and machine learning insights into actionable business strategies. You thrive in ambiguity, balance growth with resilience, and are comfortable operating at both strategic and execution levels to influence stakeholders across the organization. What You Will Do Optimize End-to-End Strategy: Leverage advanced data analytics to independently derive insights, develop, and optimize business, risk, or growth strategies across products and geographies. Manage Macro & Market Trends: Monitor portfolio performance and exogenous macroeconomic trends, proactively adjusting analytical and operational strategies to mitigate risk and balance growth. Model & Capability Building: Partner deeply with Engineering and Machine Learning teams to design, build, and interpret performance metrics for scalable risk, fraud, or growth models. Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate closely with Product, Legal, and Compliance teams to interpret evolving regulatory and market requirements, translating them directly into analytical policy and product design recommendations. Oversee Frameworks & Launches: Oversee the development and execution of analytical frameworks. Drive cross-functional discussions to ensure new product launches and market entries align with risk appetite, operational capabilities, and local regulations. External & Strategic Alignment: Engage with external stakeholders, including merchants, vendors, and partners, to align practices, ensure compliance, and strengthen strategic relationships. AI Leverage & Mentorship: Build repeatable AI-assisted workflows
